Just had a cancellation come in - Sept 1st to Sept 4th to 15th, 2012 is now available.
The 9 day rental would rent for 800$ or 1 week for 700$.

2012 Season is almost here!

In just a few short weeks another cottage season is beginning!

We are looking forward to another great year at Porters Place. 2011 was a good year, we were very busy but mother nature was not on her best behaviour. Hopefully she is in better spririts this year and will treat us right. Mid-summer we bought a new BBQ and coffee maker but other than that, not much has changed over the past year, ... admittedly, that is one of the appeals of Green Bay. 

As of today, 2012 is completely booked with the exception of 1 week, June 2nd through 9th. We have many returning guests and even a few new ones. We also have a few people on a waiting list for July and August in the event of a cancellation. 

For 2013 we still have dates available. Specifically, 5 weeks from May 25th through June 28th, 2013 and 6 weeks from August 31st through to Canadian Thanksgiving 2013. In approx 1 month I will begin taking reservations for 2014.

The 2011 Season winds down

Well, it has been a busy season in Green Bay. Porters Place is rented straight through to Thanksgiving Monday. After that, it is time to tidy up and close it down until the fun begins again during Victoria Day weekend in May. Luckily, with the exception on some great surf on September 9th due to Katia, the hurricane season was very mild on Nova Scotia's south shore.

Looking ahead:

2012 is currently booked for May long weekend plus June 23rd thru to September 1st.

2013 is booked from May long weekend plus June 29th thru to August 24th.

We are happy to see such a high percentage of return renters and return inquiries at Porters Place. I believe it shows that our renters are happy with what we offer. The downside it we are receiving reservations rentals 3 and 4 years ahead. This is great from an economic perspective, but I am concerned it is not practical. ...things can change dramatically in 4 years. Because of this, I have decided to NOT take reservations for 2014 until Spring 2012.

Book now for 2012 & 2013!

I know it sounds crazy, but in order to avoid disappointment consider booking now for 2012 and 2013. We tend to full up the months of July and August approx 10 months prior. Already, we only have 2 weeks left of July & Aug 2012. Every year we tend to be filled up quicker...

Better Prices: Another benifit for early booking is you can rent at 2011 prices. As of September 1, 2011 there weekly price will be increased. If you book for 2012 or 2013, with deposit, prior to September we will honour 2011 rates

And Dont Worry: If you need to cancel (let's face it, stuff happens) your deposit is 100% refunable up to 8 weeks prior to your rental week. If you cancel after the 8 week cut-off, we will refund you if we are able to find renters.

**Last week of Summer 2011 NOW AVAILABLE due to cancellation** August 27th to September 3rd is now available to rent. Because we usually fill up the months of July and August a year in advance - this is great news for someone looking for a spot at the last minute. RENTED!
